Don’t you think that web designers are kind of the rock stars of the internet world.  I’m not saying that because I’m a web designer myself.  In fact, I’m anything but a designer.  I’m more of a code hacker myself, but I must admit there was a time when I had aspirations of doing web design.  That may have something to do with the fact that I always wanted to be a rock star (still do), and feel that somehow the two occupations are interconnected.  Fact is, my understanding of how to layout a stunning web page with just the right combination of artwork, graphics, colors, fonts and perspective is somewhat beyond me.

But, I still know a good web page when I see one.  Perhaps because I’ve seen so many ugly ones, and the truly spectacular ones are far and few between   Kind of like kissing a lot of frogs before you find a prince (or princess in my case), I suppose.   So, how does someone like me who is anything but a celebrity web designer, manage to come up with some pretty nice looking sites?  Well, you could say I rely on the kindness of strangers.  There is plenty of open source CMS type software out there that allows just about anyone to setup a very functional website.  Additionally, there are plenty of web designers out there who have nothing better to do, then create templates for those websites and give them away for free.  If you know where to look for this stuff, then you should have no problem creating the website of your dreams, even if your not a rock star.  I know I do.
